A fost membru al Partidului Democrat Liberal mai bine de 5 ani, a castigat un mandat de deputat alaturi de ''portocalii'' bihoreni, insa acum il face cu ou si cu otet pe presedintele Romaniei pe care l-a sustinut ani la rand. Actualul liberal Octavian Bot il compara pe Traian Basescu cu Nicolae Ceausescu si afirma ca acesta ar fi meritat doua palme pentru acuzele de tradare facute la adresa regelui Mihai.
