"O idee pripita, menita sa atraga atentia de la problemele grave ale tarii si care va genera o serie de cheltuieli suplimentare." Astfel caracterizeaza reprezentantii bihoreni ai Opozitiei proiectul sustinut de presedintele Traian Basescu de reorganizare administrativa a tarii. Potrivit acestuia, cele 41 de judete vor fi inlocuite cu 8 mari regiuni, conduse de un prefect. UDMR continua sa sustina proiectul de impartire in 16 regiuni, in timp ce democratii cred ca Bihorul nu ar avea nimic de pierdut daca ar fi transformat in centru regional.
